University for the Creative Arts

Nelson Associates’ Creative Director Christian Nelson, was recently asked to give a lecture and workshop to the Second Year BA (Hons) Graphic Communication students at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in Farnham. Alongside talking about the work of the studio, he also briefed the students on a live project for one of our clients, The Hospital Club as part of a workshop session. The brief to design a poster to promote the club’s weekly film screenings was required to be completed within the workshop session itself. Students were asked to ‘mind-map’ before roughing out ideas by hand followed by creating final visuals on computer. Our shortlist will now be judged by The Hospital Club before being finalised by us and the winning student.

Later this month, Nelson Associates’ Creative Director Christian Nelson will be providing a lecture and workshop for the Second Year BA (Hons) Graphic Communication students at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in Farnham. Executive Offices Group

Our new 2013 referral campaign for prestigious serviced office company Executive Offices Group has recently launched. The campaign allows existing serviced and virtual office customers to refer a new customer and then select from a range of rewards which include products from Apple, Bose, Mulberry and Harrods amongst many others. The main promotional piece is a flip book style calendar allowing customers to select the reward item they would like to view throughout the year. The referral campaign is also supported by promotional posters which will launch soon at more than 30 centres (also designed by us).

Design Elements

Nelson Associates’ work is to be featured in new American design book ‘Design Elements – Typography Fundamentals’. Subtitled ‘A graphic style manual for understanding how typography impacts design’, the book written by American designer Kristin Culllen provides fundamental typographic knowledge and principles whilst showcasing design studios across the world who use type with ‘creative distinction’. Sheridans

As part of our recent brand identity work with specialist media lawyers Sheridans, we created a new photographic style for use throughout the brand. We developed an oblique, abstract imagery style that suggested sectors the firm work in but that could be used within any department. Imagery was sourced from photographers and specialist libraries to create a more diverse and eclectic style.

Sheridans

Our new brand collateral for specialist leisure, media and entertainment lawyers Sheridans has arrived from the printers. Sheridans represent individuals and organisations across a wide variety of sectors with clients including some of the highest profile musicians in the world, film directors, television presenters, actors, comedians, artists and celebrities. Alongside a refined typographic mark, we developed brand guidelines for the legal teams to follow which include a conceptual photographic library. The new brand collateral utilises premium papers and traditional production techniques including die-stamping to highlight the details of the refined typographic mark.
